Volunteer Programs

The Nova America Group encourages its entire team to participate in community citizen actions, a commitment that is freely assumed by those who are aware of the importance of volunteer programs.

On National Blood Donor Day, the group held a campaign to encourage associates to donate blood, distributing explanatory leaflets about the importance of the solidary act as well as requirements to be a donor. As part of the Christmas Without Hunger Campaign, an internal campaign was held to gather food (donated to needy families in Maracai). The volunteers also worked at gathering winter clothes and medications - 1.5 thousand and 130 boxes, respectively. They were also involved in a campaign to gather new and used toys for Children's Day.

Donations and Sponsorships

The Nova America Group carefully evaluates each request for sponsorships and donations, observing company policies and complying with whatever is in agreement with said guidelines. The sponsorships and donations are renewed every year to attend to a broader range of assistance, philanthropic, cultural, educational and health organizations. There are systematic donations of products (sugar and alcohol) to entities registered by the company as day care centers, associations, nursing homes, charity organization, etc., and eventual donations, which attend to requests made during the year. The soliciting entities are visited by social workers who map out each location's needs.

Between May 2004 and April 2005, 299 donations and 138 sponsorships were conceded. Among those, we can underscore:

  • 39,000 kg of sugar.
  • 12,000 liters of alcohol.
  • 13 computers for social entities.
  • Industrial washing machine for the São Vicente de Paula nursing home in Assis.
  • Resources to buy a vehicle for the Tutelary Council of Maracaí.
  • Resources to buy sweaters, socks, beds, mattresses and household appliances for the Children's Municipal Fund of Tarumã.
  • 130 comforters for the São José Day Care Center, in Tarumã.
  • Complete hospital bed for the ICU at Santa Casa de Assis Hospital.

Minor Apprentice

The minors who work as apprentices at the company participate in an agreement with the Paula Souza State Technological Education Center to work in the diverse administrative areas of the Nova America Group. They receive benefits, salaries and learn a lot of teachings and practices that qualify them for the job market. On the other hand, they must study, get good grades and show a desire to learn and grow professionally.
